MassGeocachers (MassGeo) was formed from a need for a statewide Geocaching organization. There are Western Mass and Southern New England groups (both are great) but nothing specifically geared toward the state of Massachusetts as a whole. There are seemingly 49 other state groups, so why not MA?

At the moment, MassGeocachers.org is run by one person, Scott Garrand (Me!). It was founded in June 2009 by myself and Gene aka BareFeat. He and I were on different paths in our lives at the time. He had time to work on the site and I didn’t. Gene worked fast and furious on the site until he moved away.

These days I’m trying to lay the foundation for the site using WordPress, which I am very familiar with. I’m hoping others will step in to contribute content once there is some semblance of a site here.
